Since 1995, the Water Theater has been developing the direction of choreographic and circus water performances, in which synchronized swimmers, dancers, circus performers, musicians and dramatic actors perform on the water stage of sports pools, creating an unforgettable spectacle.

In 1980, the synchronized swimming team led by Maria and Vladimir Maksimov was invited to participate in the circus program on the Lenin Hills, dedicated to the Olympic Games in Moscow.

The Swan Lake show has been in the repertoire of the theater on the water since 1995. During this time, several aquatic versions of the world-famous work by P.I. Tchaikovsky were created and shown.

History of the New Year's performances began in in 1979, when the synchronized swimming team Burevestnik performed in the Daugava. Then, in the late 1980s, the Teatr na vode team was invited to the Riga Daugava swimming pool for several years in a row.
The idea of the project, in which the stars of the world synchronized swimming and circus gather annually after the end of the sports season (in autumn) to participate in a large water-themed performance, was born after the victory of the Russian national team at the World Championships in 1998...
Since 2002, for more than 20 years, Teatr na vode has been performing at Moscow Crocus City Mall site all weekends and holidays for 3 performances a day. More than 50 acts for small swimming pools has been created during this time by Maria, Vladimir and Gana Maximovs
