SynchroСircuStar 2006

The idea of the project, in which the stars of the world synchronized swimming and circus gather annually after the end of the sports season (in autumn) to participate in a large water-themed performance, was born after the 1998 World Championships, when the Russian team first rose to the top of the world podium. After the 2000 Olympic Games, the idea took concrete shape: the Olympic pools of various cities around the world were to become the venue for such performances.

The purpose of the project
The aim of the project was to popularize water performances as a possible solution to the problem of professional realization of high-level athletes after graduation from sports. To solve this problem, in addition to the performance, the project provided for
3-day training "studio of artistic development" in artistic swimming, dance, circus and theatrical skills. During the master classes, water sports athletes could get the basics of skills for subsequent participation in choreographic and circus performances on the water.
The project history
In 2002, the idea of the project took real shape — the first performance was scheduled for autumn 2003. 3-time world champion Virginie Dedieu (for the role of Odette), Spanish synchronized swimming star Gemma Mengual (for the role of Odile) and, of course, our Olympic champions Maria Kiselyova and Olga Brusnikina were among the first to participate in the performance "Swan Lake" within the framework of the international project "Synchrocircustar".
Project delay

The big interest shown by Maria Kiselyova at the very first conversation to the idea, details of the project and subsequent participation in it gave hope that in the performance to the music of P. I. Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake", which is truly the pride of national culture, the main roles will be performed by the undisputed leaders of the world synchronized swimming — Russian athletes. However....
Unexpectedly organized just a few months later, the independent project of M. Kisseleva and O. Brusnikina "Show of Olympic Champions", which practically duplicates the idea of the SynchroCircuStar project, made the implementation of the project conceived by us impossible in the form in which it was planned in 2003. In this regard, the premiere of the SynchroCircuStar project was postponed and postponed first to 2005, and then, due to the employment of some artists and creators, to 2006.

In April 2006, in the French city of Saint-Cyprien, with the support of the Mayor's Office and the sports club of the city, the performance "Swan Lake" finally took place! The main role in it — the role of the white swan (Odette) was performed by 3-time world champion in synchronized swimming Virginie Dedieu (France), the role of the black swan (Odile) - the soloist of the "Theater on the Water"
Anastasia Sukhova, and the role of the prince is played by professional flamenco dancer Bernardo Suzayciliani. (Brazil).
